A menstrual cycle is counted from the first day of one period to the first day of the next period. The average cycle is about 28 days, but normal cycles can range anywhere from 21 to 35 days. Your cycle might not be exactly the same length every month, and that’s okay! In your first few years of having periods, irregular cycles are very common as your body finds its rhythm.
