It might look like a lot, but most people only lose about 2-3 tablespoons of blood during their entire period! The blood mixes with other fluids, which makes it seem like more. Your flow can be light, medium, or heavy – all are normal. You’ll notice it’s usually heavier at the start and lighter near the end. Everyone’s flow is different, and yours is perfectly normal for you.
What can help:
What to know
- Use the right product for your flow (light days vs. heavy days)
- Change pads or tampons regularly (every 4-6 hours)
- Track your flow to learn your pattern
Remember, what’s normal for you might be different from your friends, and that’s okay!
