How can I wake up feeling more energised?

  • 2 min read

Waking up tired is frustrating. Here are practical strategies to help you feel more energized in the morning.

Go to Bed Earlier
Teens need 8-10 hours of sleep. If you’re waking up exhausted, try going to bed 30 minutes earlier and see how you feel.
Consistent Sleep Schedule
Your body loves routine. Try to sleep and wake at similar times every day, even on weekends. This helps regulate your internal clock.
Wake Up to Natural Light
Open your curtains or turn on a bright light right away. Light tells your brain it’s morning and helps you feel alert.
Move Your Body
Gentle stretching, a quick walk, or even dancing to one song gets your blood flowing and shakes off grogginess.
Eat Breakfast
Your body needs fuel after hours of fasting. Even something small like fruit or toast can boost your energy.
Hydrate First Thing
Drink a glass of water when you wake up. Your body is dehydrated after sleep, and water helps wake you up.
Avoid Snoozing
The snooze button disrupts your sleep cycle and makes you groggier. Put your alarm across the room so you have to get up to turn it off.
Check Your Evening Routine
What you do before bed affects how you feel in the morning. Avoid screens, caffeine, and stress close to bedtime.
