How can I revise without feeling overwhelmed?

  • 2 min read

Revision doesn’t have to be stressful. Breaking it down into manageable steps makes it less overwhelming.

Start Early
Don’t wait until the night before. Even 15-20 minutes a day for a week is more effective than one long panic session.
Make a Plan
List what you need to review and break it into small chunks. Tackle one topic at a time instead of trying to do everything at once.
Use Active Revision
Test yourself with flashcards, explain concepts out loud, or teach the material to someone else. Passive reading isn’t as effective.
Take Regular Breaks
Study for 25-30 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. Your brain needs rest to absorb information.
Mix Up Your Methods
Use different techniques: diagrams, summaries, practice questions, videos. Variety keeps you engaged and helps different types of learning.
Focus on What You Don’t Know
Spend more time on challenging topics. Don’t waste time endlessly reviewing what you already understand.
Create a Good Environment
Find a quiet, comfortable space with minimal distractions. Tell your family you’re studying so they don’t interrupt.
Be Realistic
You can’t learn everything. Do your best with the time you have, and remember that one test doesn’t define you.
